Chris DePrisco, a creator from the United States, recently posted a video tutorial on YouTube showing how to use 3D printing parts, air compressors and pressure vessels for low temperature metal casting. This process can only use metals with lower melting points, but provides manufacturers with a completely new way to make useful objects.
In the video, DePrisco used a 3D printing and air pressure mechanism to make a Maltese Falcon silicone mold. The molten metal he chose was a niobium alloy with a melting point of 138 ° C, which was within the tolerance of the silicone mold.
He first used the PLA wire 3D to print the standard model of the Falcon. Then make a sealed polycarbonate box and put the falcon inside. The box was then filled with a silica gel mixture and left for one night.
The next day, the mold was opened and the Falcon model was removed from the silica gel mixture. This leaves a perfect falcon shape.
Next, DePrisco chose to melt the 铋281 alloy consisting of 60% tin and 40% bismuth at 138 ° C, melted and poured into the mold.
Once the crucible is cooled down in the silicone mold, it can be pulled out. However, the metal falcon produced this time does not look very good, because bubbles are generated during the casting process.
So he tried to crush the bubbles in the Falcon model using a pressure vessel and an air compressor under a 60-80 Psi pressure. This device can help it make a better model, but there are still some small metal "balls" outside the Falcon. He realized that this was caused by bubbles in the silicone mold, not the flaws.
Therefore, he re-made the silicone mold, but this time he used pressure equipment.
Due to the use of air compressors and pressure vessels in the manufacture of silicone molds and metal castings, DePrisco finally produced a beautifully looking Falcon, almost identical to the PLA wire 3D printing model.
Finally, DePrisco said that you may not have the equipment to compress air on hand, but through his video tutorials, people can understand that without the help of metal 3D printers , people can turn cheap 3D printing parts into metal products, which is very simple. Convenience.

The pneumatic Standing Desk is a simplification of the automatic lifting table. It eliminates the need for a motor or compressor, and adjusts the air pressure bar manually to achieve the function of lifting
advantage:1. Low price and high cost performance 2. No need to connect to electricity, no oil, good safety.
Disadvantages:1. The stability is not high 2. It takes a little effort to raise and lower, and some buttons need to be lifted by hand to achieve the purpose of up and down.
