According to Cannon, high-throughput sequencing, also known as "next-generation" sequencing, can sequence hundreds of thousands to millions of DNA molecules in parallel at once. Therefore, this sequencing method can analyze the transcriptome and genome of the species more comprehensively than before.

However, since the read length of the raw data of "next generation" sequencing technology is only tens or one or two hundred bases, according to the traditional analysis process, bioinformatics tools must be used to assemble these short base data into longer Sequence set or genomic framework can further achieve biologically meaningful results. This restricts the development of such data in non-model biological genome studies without reference genomes.

At the same time, based on their previous work, they further improved the non-assembly analysis method and compared 174 chloroplast whole genome data to verify the function and operation process of the package.
