Miller beer dazzling

SABMiller used a variety of pressure-sensitive labeling techniques, including luminous labels, in the bottle holder of its 330 ml Miller® Genuine Draft beer. The beer is mainly sold in the South African market with the assistance of Illo Spear. IlloSpear is a new company formed by the merger of Spear`s Europe Division and Illocroma, the largest paper label production tool manufacturer in Europe. The new beer bottle features a limited-edition luminous label. The label is printed with UV-sensitive ink that shines under ultraviolet light in darkened bars and nightclubs to attract consumers' attention. The beer also has promotional incentives, such as giving iPods, fashion gifts and discount coupons. The front label is 2 mil thick biaxial polypropylene with sensitized emulsion on the edge of a 1 mil thick PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and six color rotations from Spear`s Cwmbran in Wales. Printing technology printing, its printing ink and UV coating provided by the Sun Chemical company. The label on the back is a double-layered white BOPP and a UV two-color flexo-printed bottom layer plus a layer of cationic varnish (the varnish releases an acid upon exposure to UV rays, thereby eliminating UV light). The surface layer is also UV two-color flexo plus varnish. SAB introduced this label in the bottling process of its winery in Chamdor, Zaire, for the Krones Top Module labeler. If the surface of the back label is torn off, consumers can find a group of numbers that can participate in the lottery.
