Graphics and Image - PageMaker Basic Tutorial

1. Vector graphics

Vector graphics can also be placed.

Vector graphics are smooth and smooth. This feature will remain after scaling.
The vector file has a small amount of files, which is advantageous for preservation and transmission.

2. Grid diagram

After the grid image is placed, the zoomed image affects the image quality. Its file is also very large.

Set the required size of the grid image in PageMaker, handle the required size in the image processing, and then put it in, the quality will be better.

Control line type and fill, select Fill and Line type commands in the Components menu.

Rectangular fillet:

Double-click on the rectangle tool on the toolbar to bring up the filleting dialog and select the size of the fillet.
Double-click the line tool, any line tool, the custom line dialog will pop up. Line style and color can be set.
Double-click and the circle tool will pop up the Fill & Line dialog box. You can set the line type, border color, fill color, etc.
Vector polygons are editable.

Just double-click the polygon to enter the editable state of the anchor.

Move the anchor point to drag the anchor point to change the position of the anchor point.
Deleting an anchor point Click the anchor point you want to delete, and you can delete the anchor point.
Add an anchor point Click on the path segment to add an anchor point at the click.
Disconnecting Nodes Press the Ctrl key to click on the anchor to disconnect the anchor from the previous one and delete the connection between the two anchors.

4. The nature of vector graphics

It and the frame can be converted to each other.
When it is selected together with a raster or other object, it can act as a mask.

With the graph selected with other objects, select the "Mask" command in the "Components" menu.
After shading, you can group them. Hold down the Ctrl key and click to select the obscured object and move it to change its display in the mask.

The Shading command produces a texture fill effect.

"Shade" can be released. Select the "Mask" object and select "Remove Mask" from the "Components" menu.

5. The placement of images and graphics

Image formats that can be placed into PageMaker:

CGM, CDR, CMX, DCS, DXF, EPS, GEM, GIF, PLT, JPG, PCD, PIC, PCT, PNT, XLC, PCX, SCT, TBL, PLT, TIF, BMP, WMF, EMF, WPG.
For high-quality output, it must be placed in TIFF and EPS format in CMYK mode.

6. Image control

Images for bitmap and grayscale modes can be adjusted using the "Image Control" menu in the "Component" "Image" menu.
The image of the above two modes can also be changed by the color on the color panel.

For colored CMYK-mode TIF images, filters can be used in Photoshop.

7. Cut image

With the cutting tool, the image can be cut, but the cut image is not removed and remains in PageMaker. The original size can still be restored with the cutting tool.

Use the cutting tool to click and drag on the cut image, the cursor will become a hand-shaped tool, drag the screen to change the image display center.

8. Link to the image

The images selected in the publication can be exported in the following three formats using the "Export" / "Image" command in the "File" menu.
