Japan's Fuji Film Co., Ltd. has announced that it will spend £123 million to acquire the British Color Co., Ltd. ink company in order to expand Fuji's print business.
According to the AFP news agency quoted Fuji's statement on January 19, "This acquisition plan aims to expand our core business - the print business." The acquisition plan is expected to be completed by the end of February. In the future, the British Color Co., Ltd. ink company will be renamed Fujifilm Color Co., Ltd. and become part of the Fuji Group.
Fujitsu stated that once the acquisition plan is completed, the company’s print output can be expanded from the current 240 billion yen per year to 300 billion yen (about 1.56 billion pounds) in 2009.
