The School of Printing Engineering of Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping established the discipline of printing engineering in the early 1980s. Research on the application of color theory

The results have been successfully transferred; the "ink database" has been established to provide the basis for computer coloring; and the electronic chromatogram of electronic maps has been developed so that the electronic maps have the same color when they are converted into different visual information on the carriers.

Graphic digital information processing, conversion and output

Study the image structure of AM and FM images, and based on this, developed the "frequency modulation image processing and output software" to improve the digital image information conversion, output as visual information of the level of clarity and fidelity; study of color images The relationship between the output process and its sub-processes, the "color image replication transfer function" was proposed, and the "color image reproduction computer-aided process design" software was developed; methods and means for the study of image and text output quality control were used; The filtering technology solves the separation of the image signal and the noise, realizes the three-dimensional image's three-dimensional reproduction on the two-dimensional plane, and uses the ITC printability instrument to study the ink overprint theory.

Research on color map replication

In view of the speciality of map printing, the method of scientifically grading map dot size and the technical method of four-color printing of maps were developed, and a practical network dot film was produced; the “machine assisted map revising plate making system” was completed, and the color map was scanned and processed.
