[Chinese Packaging Network News] Now in the soft packaging industry, biodegradable name can be described as blunt, but in fact the principle of this seemingly esoteric things is not difficult, even simple enough to understand even the layman, but the real operation is still very challenging.
The principle and type of biodegradation
Biodegradable plastic films are plastic films that can be biodegraded into water, carbon dioxide, and low-molecular-weight compounds under natural conditions. Its principle of degradation is to decompose the macromolecular material into carbon dioxide, water, honeycomb-like porous material and low-molecular-weight salts through various bacteria and enzymes, which are used by plants for photosynthesis and will not cause environmental pollution. The degradation process is generally divided into three steps: one is that the polymer material is bioadhesive; the second is that microorganisms secrete enzymes on the surface of the polymer material, and the enzyme then acts on the polymer, and the polymer is broken into low molecules through hydrolysis, oxidation, and other reactions. Fragments; Third, microbes absorb or consume low-molecular fragments.
In fact, some high polymer materials are inherently biodegradable. General biodegradable film is a material in which a certain proportion of biodegradable masterbatch is added to a polyolefin plastic and then processed by blow molding and the like, and a color packaging film can also be formed by adding masterbatch to the material. Commonly used degradable masterbatch consists of starch, cross-linking agent, co-oxidant, chemical descending agent, low-molecular dispersant, polymer resin, etc.
In addition to the above two types of biodegradable plastic films, there are photobiodegradable double plastic films, starch series biodegradable plastic films, and the like.
